From southern Tuscany, to the land around Etna Volcano: in this virtual journey, we 'accompany' you to 'taste' a rare and magnificent wine.
We will take you, together with a master like Andrea Franchettia young, alert and knowledgeable oenologist in a forgotten place in the far south of Tuscany, where his nose told him that Bordeaux vines would produce good fruit.
Time and work have proved him right: today his Trinoro is considered one of the best Italian reds.
Encouraged by these magnificent results, Andrea bought several estates on the eastern slope of the Etna volcano in Sicily. And here, too, he created absolute masterpieces under the name of Passopisciaro.
Both projects stand out for their extraordinary complexity and the extreme diversity of their terroirs. Two young, dynamic and avant-garde wineries.

From intuition comes a masterpiece
An area not at all devoted to wine production. Abandoned woods and fields as far as the eye can see. Thus from nowhere comes Tenuta di Trinoro, located in the hamlet Castiglioncello del Trinoro of the Italian municipality of Sarteano, in the province of Siena, in one of the most beautiful regions of Italy: Tuscany. Andrea Franchetti He let himself be carried away by his intuition and around the 1990s he restored an old fortified house in the spectacular Val d'Orcia and there decided to plant vineyards where there had never been any... Thus was born, after the first years of normal experimentation, the first vintage of Tenuta di Trinoro: it was 1997. Today, however, we can enjoy and taste this wine (from 2015) and discover what inspired Franchetti when he decided to set out on this adventure: in this Rosso made from grapes, mainly Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and then blending Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot, there is the essence of his being so talented and charismatic.
